Survive & Save & Rookie Lifeguard

From time to time we are able to offer courses in lifesaving, however we are looking for new members to join our weekly training sessions which are great fun! Find out more about memberships
Our senior and very experienced Trainers Paul Searle (Club President) and Nicky Knight will be running a course over the weekend of 16th and 17th March for all those aged 14 years upwards who are interested in becoming Instructors for the Torbay Lifesaving Club.
Training will take place at the Admiral Swimming Centre, Higher Ranscombe Road, Brixham from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 16th March and from 9am to 1pm on Sunday 17th March with the aim of starting teaching/assisting at the club session the afternoon of the 17th.
All course materials will be provided. You just need to bring your swim kit and goggles, a packed lunch, water bottle and pen and paper.
There is no charge for this course but once completed, we ask for a regular commitment to assisting with teaching during our regular Sunday sessions.
The level of qualification will vary according to your age and the following age boundaries:
Assistant Rookie Instructor for aged 14 - 16 year olds
Rookie Instructor - 16 years and above.
Lifesaving Instructor (Academy) - from 17 years but have to be 18 when finally assessed.
